WiSE Up! “We are in fact unequal”
October 29, 2015 @ 6:30 am - 8:00 pm
“To the women in my engineering classes: While it is my intention in every other interaction I share with you to treat you as my peer, let me deviate from that to say that you and I are in fact unequal.”
Have you seen the recent Letter to the Editor written by Jared Mauldin from Eastern Washington University? His words on the unfair conditions his women peers have to face in engineering is going viral, and it’s easy to see why. However, not all of the responses have been supportive: it seems that the opnions on the subject of women in sciences are as varied as scientists themselves.
Join your favorite WiSE folks for some food and discussion on this open letter and all the reactions it has earthed up! As always, appetizers are on us. See you there!
